Learn how to build and implement an effective investigative strategy to move your case forward with clarity and purpose.

Dawn Widman

Sr. Investigator 

City of Detroit-Board of Ethics

Dawn is a Senior Investigator with the City of Detroit Board of Ethics, bringing over 40 years of law enforcement experience spanning every level of government. As the first investigator for the Board of Ethics, she played a foundational role in developing the department’s investigative processes from the ground up. A dedicated and passionate learner, Dawn continually seeks out new techniques, resources, and training to enhance her work. Her career is marked by numerous educational achievements and certifications.

 

Jeffrey Kamigaki

Supervising Special Investigator, Enforcement Division

State of California, Fair Political Practices Commission

Jeffrey is a Supervising Special Investigator in the Enforcement Division of the Fair Political Practices Commission. He attended UC Davis, where he majored in political science, and later earned a master’s degree in public administration from the University of San Francisco. He worked on political campaigns at the local, state, and federal levels for several years before joining the FPPC. Jeffrey has served as a special investigator with the Commission for six years and has spent the last six years as a supervising special investigator. He currently supervises five special investigators and one investigative assistant.


Lance Hachigian

Supervisory Special Investigator

State of California, Fair Political Practices Commission 

Lance holds a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice and brings over a decade of investigatory experience at both the state and federal levels. He currently leads a team of five special investigators.
